An individual who is authorized to fly only Light-sport Aircraft. Requires at least 20 hours of flight time, including at least 15 hours of flight training from an authorized instructor.
An individual who may fly aircraft of up to 180 horsepower and 4 seats in the daytime for pleasure only. Requires at least 30 hours of flight time.
An individual who may fly for pleasure or personal business, generally without accepting compensation. Requires at least 40 hours of flight time, including at least 20 hours of flight training from an authorized instructor and 10 hours of solo flight training.
An individual who may, with some restrictions, fly for compensation or hire. Requires at least 250 hours of flight time, including specific requirements for powered aircraft, pilot-in-command flight time, and cross-country flight.
